Everyday Art x Behind the Bar

Art is everywhere, even behind the bar…

Starting with the pioneer, Andy Warhol x Absolute Vodka in 1986, artists and alcohol have gone hand in hand for years. This month Veuve Cliquot announced its collaboration with Yayoi Kusama celebrating their new vintage La Grande Dame 2012.

News of their collab got me to thinking about some of my favorite bottles and the mashup of my two favorite things…

Art and a good drink ;)

Cheers!

Jeff Koons x  Dom Perignon

2004 Jeff Koons collabs with elite champagne Dom Perignon releasing a mini version of his Balloon Venus sculpture modified as a bottle case. Cradled inside is a bottle of Dom Pérignon Rosé Vintage 2003.

Felipe Pantone x Hennessy

I had the chance experience a special drop for Hennessy and artist Felipe Pantone last summer. Hennessy makes a home in the art world working with contemporary artists to create Very Special Limited Edition bottles. ComplexCon was a fitting place to drop, Remixing The Present featuring Pantone’s bold designs.

Virgil Abloh x Moet

Virgil took his signature style to the  House of Moët & Chandon to give the champagne’s gold label Rosè bottle an all white makeover.

Hebru Brantley x Bombay Sapphire

This summer Bombay Sapphire entered the chat, collaborating with Hebru Brantley on a series of three bottles featuring afro futuristic motifs and his street art influence. Brantley is no stranger to Bombay. In 2011, he qualified as a finalist in their nationwide search for the next big names in visual arts. The launch of the bottle benefited the Chicago chapter of Black Lives Matter

KAWS X Hennessy

One of my favorite collabs, Hennessy and KAWS. Combining some of his signature elements….Chomper’s teeth, XX Eyes, bright colors and sharp lines. The launch featured a series of short videos with behind the scenes footage of the process. Marketing at its finest.

Yoon Hyup & Santtu Mustonen x Crown Royal

You know what it is. The purple bag, gold draw strings, & 5 pounds of change. Crown Royal bags are iconic and with recent flavor launches the OG purple has taken on new shades. Rewind to 2017 - Crown Royal tapped New York artists Yoon Hyup and Santtu Mustonen to give the iconic bag a make over as the start of their “Artists Collection” initiative.

Arik Levy x Hennessy

Long time Hennessy collaborator, sculptor Arik Levy designed the most unique and beautiful Hennessy bottle of all time. The 8 crystal rings of the Henenssy 8 bottle marked a changing of the guard. After 50 years, Yann Fillioux gave the reigns over to his nephew Renaud Fillioux.
